Empowering document imaging discussions

Earlier this week, we announced that we’re created a wiki for eCopy™, Inc., a provider of document imaging solutions that integrate paper documents into business software applications.  We’re excited about this wiki because it goes in a different direction from the majority of enterprise wikis. It reinforces the idea that wikis foster a more collaborative environment and enable knowledge management, whether it be for internal corporate users or helping to move an industry forward.

The document imaging wiki is an open forum in which anyone can participate. It provides IT managers and office professionals a centralized resource for research on document scanning topics specific to their industry, and allows people to collaborate using discussion boards. Utilizing a SamePage wiki enabled eCopy to create a scalable and simple format where users can collaborate and share information on topics that include document imaging hardware, software, paperless office strategies and a wide range of industry resources.

eCopy’s goals with this wiki include creating a new medium for communication and collaboration within their industry. It also reinforces eCopy’s position as an industry thought leader.

The company chose our wiki for a number of reasons, including the dynamic features of the SamePage interface and the ease of use.  The target audience is wide, and eCopy wanted a system that would allow participants to quickly get up to speed and contribute.

We think utilizing a wiki as part of an aggressive external marketing program is good use of this kind of software. We’ll be keeping a close eye on it and suggesting this kind of approach to other customers looking to be a trend-setter in their area of business.
